Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Process Engineer. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of large-scale European battery factories. Key responsibilities

  • Defining process design basis and process design criteria.
  • Continuous gap & opportunity analysis of the process design.
  • Researching and conducting tests (lab and pilot scale) to develop new and improved processes.
  • Performing engineering calculations, modeling, and/or simulations in order to achieve the optimum process design configuration.
  • Working closely with R&D to articulate the process design needs, proposing test plans and engaging in iterative discussion to ensure that the R&D outcomes will align seamlessly with our robust design objectives.
  • Working with key system/equipment suppliers in order to develop solutions that are tailored made for our needs, and at the same time contribute to cost efficiency and maximizing yield.
  • Working closely with engineering consultants during different phases of engineering to take the innovative ideas all the way to the execution.

Requirements

  • A degree in chemistry/chemical engineering/material science PhD/MSc or similar.
  • 1-10+ years working experience in hydrometallurgy (depending on position level).
  • Track record of successful R&D achievements.
  • Successful track record of scaling chemical processes in a fast-growing environment ideally in the metal, recycling or mining industry.
  • Curious, technically educated and with a strong business background.
  • Must have worked in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus.
